Dr. Nithyakalyani

Dr.Nithyakalyani, has biochemistry, medical biotechnology, and Cell and molecular biology research portfolio. She holds University 2nd rank in her Masters in Biotechnology and has completed her PhD in medical biotechnology from the University of Madras. Dr Nithya is highly creative and detail-oriented individual, with more than 15 years of biomedical industry experience. She has worked as a Senior Scientist with Apollo hospitals, Life cell International Pvt Ltd, X code Lifesciences.

Indian Council for Medical Research [ICMR] gave her an honorary post as Principal Investigator and the grant for establishing the human pancreatic islet transplant program in India. She was also the recipient of BIG grant [Biotechnology Ignition, Department of Biotechnology [Govt of India] and Innovation Vochure Program grant [IVP] from the Tamil Nādu government. Under her leadership, she was successful in bringing out products such as Pancreatic islet cells for treatment in brittle diabetes, Mesenchymal cell kit, Salivary kit product for Diabetes, Human dermal Fibroblast cells from skin biopsy and development of point-of-care device for genetic analysis of Clopidogrel metabolism. Her research studies involves both national and international collaborations. She has also been the recipient of top 100 educational leader from the Government of India for achieving double doctorate in two varied fields.

Dr. Nithya has received many National and International awards for her achievements in the scientific field. She has more than 4 patents and many publications both in the national and international journals to her credit.
